Bridging Education and Innovation

Arrived at school by 8:30 AM to fulfill my morning duty. The day was particularly exciting as I had the opportunity to accompany the 8th-grade students on an educational trip to Mar Ivanios College. The purpose of the visit was to explore the Chemistry, Physics, Botany, and Zoology laboratories at the college, giving the students a firsthand experience of advanced scientific concepts and practices.

What made the visit even more special was that it brought back a wave of nostalgia for me. I had previously completed my MSc in Chemistry from Mar Ivanios College, and stepping into its familiar hallways and labs once again felt like a journey back in time. The trip not only allowed me to reconnect with a place I hold dear but also provided a platform to share my enthusiasm for science with my students, bridging my academic past and my current role as an educator.

The day began with my morning duty, which I completed diligently. Later, I accompanied the 8th-grade students on an educational visit to Mar Baselios Engineering College. During the visit, we explored the Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments, where the students gained valuable insights into engineering principles and practical applications. It was a great opportunity for them to witness real-world implementations of concepts they learn in class.

In the afternoon, during the seventh period, I conducted a class for 9A. The topic covered was the Tyndall effect and the three types of solutions. To ensure the students understood the concepts effectively, I used demonstrations as a teaching method. The visual and practical approach helped engage the students, making the lesson both informative and enjoyable. It was a fulfilling experience to see their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning science.

I had noon duty, during which I monitored the students and ensured they maintained discipline during their lunch break. In the sixth hour, I handled a substitution in class 9A, where I taught the topic *Colloids* using the Concept Attainment Model. The students showed high levels of participation, actively engaging in the activities and discussions. Their enthusiasm made the session highly interactive and rewarding. It was a fulfilling experience to see the concept being grasped effectively through their involvement.

During the second hour, I handled a substitution in class 9A and introduced the topic of non-metals. I focused specifically on *Hydrogen*, teaching its properties, various uses, and significance in different fields. I also discussed its potential as a clean and efficient fuel for the future. The students were attentive and engaged, asking insightful questions, which made the session interactive and enjoyable. It was satisfying to see their curiosity and interest in the topic.

I had morning duty , ensuring that students followed the rules and maintained discipline. During the fourth hour, I taught the topic *Natural Frequency* to class 8C. Neena Miss observed my class during this session. She provided me with valuable feedback and gave appropriate suggestions to improve my teaching strategies, which I found very helpful. In the afternoon, a parents’ meeting was scheduled, so no classes were held. This allowed me to observe the interaction between teachers and parents and gain insights into how such meetings are conducted effectively. It was a productive day overall.
